Pilates Reformer

The Reformer is ideal for every body type, level of fitness, and age group. The Reformer acts as a support system for the body by helping assist it into proper form. It adds resistance to the Pilates exercises via the use of the springs that form part of the machine. It develops core strength as it dynamically works to both stretch and activate muscles. Intensity can be varied considerably from one person to the next, making it an incredibly versatile piece of equipment to use. This capability, combined with the support afforded by the resistance the machine provides, allows people of all capabilities (including those with limited range of movement or injuries) to safely complete exercises. Provision Studio offers small classes guaranteeing that you will receive guidance and support throughout the class.

Mat Pilates + Mat Flow

Mat Pilates is the basis for the entire Pilates system of exercises. On the mat, your body weight provides resistance against gravity and you focus on small isometric movements to challenge your muscles and change the shape of your body. You must be in full control of your body, rather than relying on the assistance or support of the springs and cables of an apparatus. Mat work is a great option for beginners because of its emphasis on learning how to control your muscles during exercises.

Mat Flow utilizes your own body weight for resistance and is designed to raise your heart rate. It combines small isometric movements of Mat Pilates, Barre, and core conditioning work to challenge your muscles and change the shape of your body. You will work at a faster pace challenging your body and make you sweat.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I arrive for class?

We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early for your first class. If you are not here when class starts, we may give your space to someone on the waitlist. If you know you’re going to be late, shoot us an email and we will try to get you into the next class!

What happens if I can't make a class I have signed up for?

All reservations must be cancelled six (6) hours before the class begins. If you cancel within this window or do not show up for class unlimited clients will be charged $10 and session clients will lose that session.

How will I know if I get in off the wait list?

You will receive an email! If you get into class from the waitlist, please confirm or remove yourself from the list.

Where do I park?

We have several reserved spaces right in front of the studio. If those are occupied, you can park in the rest of the parking lot, the gravel parking lot across Reese street, or the free street parking on Central Avenue!

What should I bring to class?

Feel free to bring your own towel and water. We have water refill station in the studio, but you will need your own bottle!

What should I wear for class?

For Pilates classes avoid pants that are too loose and flowy because class involves segments in which your legs are in the air. Most people feel more comfortable with spandex or compression shorts under their regular shorts. We also do the workout either barefoot or you have the option to wear socks with grips (available to purchase in the studio). For Cardio Classes wear whatever clothes and shoes you usually walk or run in.

I am pregnant. Can I still do the workout?

Please let us know if you are expecting. Pilates is one of the most suitable exercises for pregnant women since the Pilates method strengthens and tones the postural muscles that are used to carry the baby, help in delivery, and get you back in shape after the birth. Stengthening these muscles can make your labor easier, while strengthening the back and improving posture decreases risk of injury while carrying your baby. We offer a non-sweat, relaxing workout that you can do whether you’re one or thirty-one weeks pregnant. Accelerate can be modified as well for those that are expecting.

How can I become a Pilates Instructor?

We offer Pilates teacher training courses in all Pilates apparatuses (Mat, Reformer, Chair, Barrels, and Cadillac.) Please call for more information about becoming a trained Pilates teacher.
