Margaret Virden

Provision Studio owner Margaret Virden, originally from Montgomery, AL, fell in love with Pilates in college, taking classes all four years until she graduated and moved to D.C. She tried many different workout classes during her four years in D.C., but Reformer Pilates always remained her favorite. On weekends she began traveling to New York City to train at Pilates Academy International under world renowned instructors and educators. She eventually returned to the South to work as a Pilates instructor and would go on to create Accelerate with Lacy Arant, owner of Midtown Pilates in Starkville, MS. Her comprehensive certification includes Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, TRX, Pilates Suspension Method, Core-Align, Barre, Jumpboard, Rebounder, and small props. Margaret is a master instructor on all Pilates apparatuses and has specialty certifications in Pre/Post Natal, Post-Rehab, and the Pink Ribbon (Breast Cancer Survivor) Program. Margaret founded Provision Studio in April 2018 to bring Reformer Pilates, Functional Movement, and safe & effective cardio to Birmingham. Margaret also Co-founded The Onyx Method in 2020, an online movement studio where they offer online classes, instructor training, and education!

Katelyn Parks

Katelyn Parks, an Arizona native, came to Birmingham to complete her degree in Human Development and Family Science through Samford University. Following graduation, she quickly fell in love with Pilates through Provision’s 21-Day Jumpstart Program. Following some encouragement from Provision instructors, she began pursuing Pilates Academy International’s education in August 2023. Katelyn is passionate about movement throughout the lifespan, and loves to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. In her free time, she can be found reading a good book with an iced green tea in hand or enjoying a walk with her miniature Australian Shepherd, Blue.

Abby Davis

Abby is a student at Jefferson State Community College, where she is working towards a degree in Business. In 2019, she began serving on the worship team at Liberty Church Birmingham, an experience that has profoundly shaped her life. In January 2024, Abby joined Provision Studio as a Front Desk Administrator, where she quickly developed a passion for both the studio and the Pilates community. Through her role, she has connected with clients and staff, gaining a deep appreciation for the positive effects Pilates has on people’s lives. Abby takes pride in creating an empowering atmosphere for clients, ensuring they feel uplifted and inspired as they walk in and out of the studio!

Kathleen Davis

Kathleen Davis has been teaching group fitness exercise and Personal Training for nearly 30 years. She received her GF & PT certifications from AFAA, group cycling from Madd Dogg Athletics, Small Group Leadership from SCW Fitness, and most recently, completed a contemporary comprehensive Pilates Training. Over the years she has worked with many different ages and skill sets. Her versatility continues to grow and includes past experiences in Triathlon training, running, racing, boot camps, interval and weight room training. All of this, and her love of Pilates, adds to a well rounded & balanced perspective to fitness instruction. Kathleen has a passion for helping others learn more about overall fitness, the benefits of Pilates and strives to give safe & well thought out classes to all levels and populations. She is married to Tyler, who she met at Auburn University, and is a proud mother of 3.

Ramya Worthington

Ramya Worthington is a certified nurse practitioner and has worked in the Birmingham area for 10 years. She started taking Pilates classes at Provision in 2022. She quickly learned of her love and passion for Pilates, and it did not take long for her to make a career change. She believes the mind body connection can empower a deeper and healthier approach to fitness, and loves being able to help clients reach their goals. Ramya loves spending her time traveling, reading, and being outdoors with her dog Masha.

Alli Huskey

Alli Huskey has always had a passion for movement and fitness. After college, she discovered pilates and yoga and these mind-body practices became her go-to for exercise, fostering a deeper connection between her physical and mental well-being. In 2020 she started attending classes at Provision Studio. The studio’s many different offerings resonated with her and in 2022 she decided to go through the studio’s education program.  Her passion for wellness is complemented by her academic background in radiologic technology and nuclear medicine technology, which she earned from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Alli also works part-time as a nuclear medicine technologist for a cardiologist. Alli resides in Homewood, sharing her life with her husband, Dow, and their two sons.

Vivian Givhan

As a former dancer, Vivian Givhan, is a fan of all types of movement. She has taught barre fitness since 2013, and also has a 200 hour yoga certification. Although Vivian enjoys teaching many types of fitness class, she lately particularly loves the sweaty, fun energy of Bounce & Weights. In Vivian's classes, you can expect high energy, beat-driven playlists and movements with thoughtful, positive cueing.

Madeline Smith

Madeline Smith has had a passion for movement through dance from a young age and received her BA in Dance at the University of Alabama. She continues to utilize this passion for movement as a Physical Therapist, as she holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UAB and practices full-time as a PT. She recently discovered Pilates and fell in love with the mind-body connection as well as the movement concepts as a whole. She is excited to apply these Pilates principles at Provision to help others move better and pursue healthy lifestyles. Madeline has loved living in Birmingham for the last 6 years and enjoys spending time with her family and friends here. In her free time, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband Grant and golden doodle Mosley.

Lacey Davis

Lacey Davis is a Birmingham native, but she started her Pilates journey during her 15 years living in Texas.  An avid athlete growing up, Lacey is always looking for ways to keep her body moving but loves how Pilates allows people to remain mobile, strong, and flexible. She is Comprehensively Certified through Balanced Body and has been teaching Pilates for over 8 years to people of all ages and fitness levels with a belief that Pilates is for all bodies. When not in the studio, Lacey enjoys cooking, walks outside, and spending time with her husband, Andrew, and their daughter.

Ellen Simmons

Ellen Simmons, a Birmingham native and former dancer, began taking Pilates classes at Provision Studio while she was on breaks from college. It did not take long for Ellen to fall in love with pilates. She quickly saw how it challenges the body and mind without being too hard on our bodies. Ellen has always had a passion for health and wellness which prompted her to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Auburn University. Since returning to Birmingham to attend Samford University’s Physician Assistant program, Ellen has consistently taken classes at Provision Studio and began teaching cardio classes at Provision Studio in 2024. In her free time Ellen will take any opportunity to travel, try a new restaurant and read a good thriller novel.

Lenora Stroupe

Lenora Stroupe began taking Pilates & Yoga classes in college and fell in love with the strength and flexibility these exercises created. She is a RYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor and has been practicing yoga for over 8 years. She is also trained on the Bellicon Rebounder and our cardio classes. You will find her on the schedule teaching Accelerate, Bounce & Weights, and Pilates Suspension Method. She works full time as a Senior Financial Analyst and enjoys teaching all types of exercises to help transform the body and get clients to use their muscles to the fullest potential.

Kristy McKinney

Kristy McKinney is a seasoned leader in the health and wellness industry with over 15 years of experience as a group exercise and Pilates instructor. A Pilates Academy International Master Instructor, she leads instructor education and training. Kristy specializes in gait and foot health, addressing issues like foot pain and weakness. She is experienced in teaching strength training to diverse age groups and fitness levels, offering modifications for conditions like MS, osteoporosis, and scoliosis. Her passion for movement and people drives her approach to health and wellness.

Laura Day

Laura Day is originally from Rome, Georgia, and recently made the move to Birmingham, Alabama with her husband, two dogs, and their cat. She earned both her undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Georgia, and she's been teaching fitness for almost ten years now. Laura's background includes group fitness, barre, personal training, and Pilates. She first discovered Pilates after dealing with chronic low back pain, and it completely changed her life. After experiencing the healing power of Pilates firsthand, she knew she wanted to help others find the same relief and strength. Laura loves teaching and is passionate about helping people feel better, move better, and live healthier lives.

Amy McCool

Amy McCool grew up dancing and later in life was looking for something similar to fit in her exercise routine.  She discovered Pure Barre in 2010 and fell in love with the format.  Amy went on to become a Pure Barre instructor and owner.  After a decade of teaching barre, she started to see the need to incorporate more resistance training in her routine.  She completed her NASM personal training certification in 2019.  Amy teaches our Weights class which incorporates free weights in a fun way and is driven by the beat of the music. Outside of the studio, Amy enjoys spending time at the lake with her husband, son, and golden retriever.

Kinsey Humphries

Kinsey Humphries found Pilates in 2018 and loves the mind body connection that the discipline emphasizes! She became comprehensively certified in Pilates Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, TRX, Barre, Trigger Point, and small props and began teaching Pilates in 2019. She has been with Provision since 2021. Kinsey loves spending time with her husband Clayton, daughter Mary Spencer, and dogs Archie and Riley! She is passionate about food, family, and fun.

MaryBen Fitts

MaryBen Fitts is a graduate from the University of Alabama with a degree in Sports Fitness Management. She moved to Birmingham to pursue her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from UAB and completed the program in 1995. Her passion for exercise & movement have included running, triathlon and cycling. She discovered Pilates after the birth of her first child in Atlanta and loved the strength and stability it added to her fitness routine. After working in the hospital setting as a PT and raising her three children, she decided to return to her love of Pilates by becoming a certified instructor. With her physical therapy background, MaryBen is passionate about being able to help others implement the rehabilitative effects of Pilates by restoring and gaining functional movement to allow clients to achieve their fitness and movement goals. MaryBen is currently working towards completing her Pilates Academy International certification in Anatomy, Biomechanics, Posture Analysis, Mat l & ll and Reformer l & ll. She is also the Manager at Provision Studio and will most likely be at the front desk when you walk into the studio!

Wil Simpson

Wil Simpson is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and became interested in Pilates when he was introduced to it during a physical therapy clinical rotation. After discussion with his current clinic, they determined it would be an excellent compliment to their PT vision of individualized care and fitness forward approach. He is passionate about helping others achieve their goals, whether it be in fitness or daily activity. Age in and of itself is not a limitation for him. He enjoys pushing people past what they initially think is possible in order to motivate them to be the best version of themselves. He also enjoys CrossFit and Hunting!

Madison Ohlman

Madison Ohlman utilizes her passion for Pilates as a full time Doctor of Physical Therapy at NOVA PT. She began her Pilates journey at Provision in 2022 and went through the training program via PAI for Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels. Madison loves incorporating her Pilates training and medical education into rehabilitation with patients and Pilates instruction. Madison has a desire to help people become the best version of themselves and she believes maintaining those accomplishments will prevent many physical injuries her clients may face throughout their life. Madison centers her work around both rehabilitative and preventative forms of exercise with physical therapy and pilates. Madison fell in love with Provision Studio’s anatomy and biomechanics background, along with their modifications for each individual’s specific needs and goals. Madison grew up in a dance company and continues to take adult classes. She got married in 2023 to her amazing husband, Mark, and loves to travel and spend time with family as much as possible.

Meredith Castleberry

Meredith Castleberry is a graduate of Auburn University and lives with her husband in Birmingham. Meredith has her comprehensive Pilates certification and is certified in Reformer, Mat, Cadillac, Chair, Springboard, TRX, Spine corrector and Ladder Barrel as well as Trigger point myofascial release. After struggling for years to find a workout that worked for her, she discovered Pilates in 2017 and fell in love, deciding to became a certified instructor in 2018. Meredith loves that Pilates works for everyone no matter your age or fitness background. Meredith hopes by attending her classes clients will learn to connect with their body in new and different ways and leave feeling centered and grateful for all our bodies can do!

Melody Lovvorn

Melody Lovvorn is an Enneagram, Relationship, and Executive Coach with a passion for people, and enthusiasm in creating tools to empower others. She has been a fitness instructor for 25 years and holds certifications through AFFA and Balanced Body. Whether it is fitness, relationship coaching, or working with college students, she loves creating classes and content for success. As the founder of EVA, she is using innovative technology and the enneagram to revolutionize how college students and young adults connect, develop emotional resilience, improve relationships, and enhance mental health on a global scale. A mom of four recent college graduates, Melody is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying beach volleyball, paddle boarding, hiking, pickle-ball, pepper place, and discovering the latest food trucks in town.
